BIOGRAPHY
Where it all began
Like most of the neighborhood kids of his time, Marc started playing guitar after hearing “Stairway to Heaven” for the first time. But it wasn’t until he reached his twenties that he really learned how to craft songs of his own… in French.
His first success as a songwriter was a melancholy ballad called “Les Berges”, which earned him high praise at the Granby Song Festival. It was then covered by renowned folksinger Pauline Julien at the Place des Arts of Montreal. From then on, Marc’s path was sealed.
THE ROAD TO THE INFINITE-LANE HIGHWAY
Switching to English in the nineties, he formed the alternative rock band Prester John, soon followed by The Graduates, for which he wrote some of his most memorable melodies, including “Rainy Smile”, “My Backyard” and “Too Good to be True”.
At the beginning of the new millennium, Marc disbanded The Graduates and proceeded to build his own personal studio, which would soon inspire him to create a virtual one man band : Infinite-Lane Highway. The first eponymous album was completed by 2008, followed by The Long Dark Road in 2010. Ten years later, a heavier and bluesier double album, Night Cab, finally came to life.
Nowadays, Marc is working on remixing some of his favorite songs with a more modern approach. A fourth Infinite-Lane Highway album is also in the works.
